Isaac Herzog
Isaac "Bougie" Herzog (; born 22 September 1960) is an Israeli politician who has been serving since 2021 as the president of Israel. He is the first president to have been Sabra (person), born in Israel after its Israeli Declaration of Independence, Declaration of Independence. Son of former Israeli president Chaim Herzog, he is a lawyer by profession and had served as Government Secretary from 1999 to 2001. He was a member of the Knesset from 2003 to 2018. He has held several ministerial posts between 2005 and 2011, including serving as Welfare and Social Services Minister of Israel, Minister of Welfare and Social Services from 2007 to 2011 under prime ministers Ehud Olmert and Benjamin Netanyahu. Herzog had served as Chairman of the Israeli Labor Party, Labor Party and the Zionist Union alliance from 2013 to 2017.
